Year 3 class names were voted for by the children and were chosen from famous inspirational people that have taught us about the world.

Amelia Earhart is an aviation pioneer. Amelia saw her first plane at a fair when she was 10 years old and was inspired. During World War I, Amelia became a nurse's aid in Toronto, Canada, to tend to wounded soldiers. On December 28, 1920, pilot Frank Hawks gave Amelia her first ride in an aeroplane. She was the first woman to fly alone across the Atlantic Ocean

Bear Grylls is a British explorer, adventurer and television presenter. He trained with the SAS and this is where he learnt a lot of his survival skills. He has used these survival skills to explore some of the harshest and most dangerous terrains on the planet.

Sir David Attenborough is an English broadcaster and naturalist and is extremely well known for his documentaries for the BBC. He is often referred to as a ‘national treasure’ in Britain and was knighted in 1985, earning him the title of Sir David Attenborough. He has won many awards for his wildlife film-making and even has 15 species named after him
