Year 1 class names were voted for by the children and were chosen from famous authors that the children will come across in Reception and Year 1.

Michael Bond is most famous for writing the Paddington Bear books. Bond decided to write the stories after buying a teddy bear for his wife as a Christmas present and named the teddy bear Paddington as he lived near Paddington train station. Bond has written many books based on the adventures of his teddy bear and two of the stories have been turned into films. Bond has sold more than 35 million books and the Paddington stories have been translated into 40 different languages.

Beatrix Potter is an English children’s author and illustrator. She wrote many picture books which often revolved around animals. She is the author of the popular book ‘The Tale of Peter Rabbit’.

Micheal Rosen is an English children's author; most famously known for his children's book 'We're going on a Bear hunt'.  He is also a poet, performer, broadcaster and scriptwriter.
